Clare Lallow was established in 1867 and has an unrivalled tradition of boat building, restoration, wood working and service. The company combines traditional techniques and craftsmanship with modern materials and technology to provide a wide range of services on most types of boats. In addition to being specialists in the restoration of classic wooden boats such as Ted Heath’s Morning Cloud (now ‘Opposition’) and a sister ship, Easy Glider, we have the facilities and craftsmen available for all types of GRP and gel-peeling work. With our dedicated painting, rigging, fabricating, sail making and engineering departments, we can offer a complete service to yachtsmen. We offer a very competitive scrubbing service. We can haul out and store vessels on our own sites and we can use our cherry picker for mast work which would otherwise need the mast to be removed. Our fuel berth is open seven days a week and we offer a round the clock repair service during major sailing events. We also have our very own sawmill and joinary side of the business we hold stock of all Marine grade timber and plywood to the general public and is also open 7 days a week throughout British summer time, thus enabling us to provide the most rounded boat building, repair and restoration service on the island, as well as being able to manufacture doors windows, stairs and many other bespoke joinary items.
